Bárur — Display Typeface by MNDT Type

Bárur started as a custom wordmark for a wellness brand in 2024. What began as lettering for a client brief gradually revealed itself as something larger: a typeface waiting to be released. Named after the Old Norse word for waves, the design draws from natural movement and cyclical rhythm. Ocean currents, the ebb and flow of breath, the frequencies of sound—these shaped the letterforms more than historical references did, though those are present too.
